Hi, I’m Joanna.

For most of my life, I thought healing was about becoming a different version of myself. Stronger. Better. More successful. More healed.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something.

Healing wasn’t asking me to become someone else. It was inviting me back to myself.

I’ve spent much of my life helping people navigate change, loss, reinvention, relationships, grief, purpose, and all the complicated pieces of being human.

My own life has taken me through public health, business, leadership, the healing arts, and intuitive work. But some of my greatest teachers weren’t found in a classroom or behind a title. They were uncertainty, heartbreak, loss, healing, growth, and starting over.

Life doesn’t spare any of us from being human. And I don’t think we’re supposed to escape that part of it.

I’ve learned that we can be strong and vulnerable. Certain and unsure. Spiritual and completely human. We can have beautiful days and hard days and still be growing through all of them.

Somewhere in all of that, I began listening differently. To my intuition. To my body. To those little nudges we sometimes dismiss. To the signs and synchronicities that seem to arrive exactly when we need them.

And most importantly, to myself.

That’s really what Be Your Own Unicorn grew from. Not the idea that I have all the answers, because I don’t. It’s the belief that there is extraordinary wisdom already living inside each of us.

Sometimes we simply need a safe place, a little perspective, a little laughter, or someone walking beside us while we learn to trust that wisdom again.

My goal is never to tell you who to be. My goal is to help you remember.

I love beach sunsets. I notice signs and synchronicities. I believe gratitude is magic. I believe joy matters. And I believe becoming more fully yourself may be one of the bravest and most beautiful things you can do.

I believe every person carries a light that deserves to shine.

And when one of us shines, we all shine.
